Not so long
ago, mallard were rarely seen except for surprise sightings
on hill tarns or quiet country ponds. Now there are thriving colonies
of them everywhere which can be enjoyed by riversides,
country ponds and harbours. Brora harbour, for example, is
an ideal place for a family
picnic or simply somewhere to go to feed the
ducks.
