The headwaters of the River Brora and its main tributaries
spring from the remote hills of Sutherland and together
their waters flow through one of the last natural
wildernesses of the UK, down to Loch Brora and then on to
the sea.
Heading north on the A9 through Brora, take a left onto the
single track road to Balnacoil on the north side of the
bridge, just past the war memorial, stay on the road for 2
to 3 miles and you will find yourself on the banks of Loch
Brora, a truly beautiful part of Sutherland.
