Carn Liath Broch

Just three miles south of Brora is the Carn Liath Broch,
with good parking and easy access close by. Much of the
original ground level structure is still in good repair and
there is even a small guard chamber built into the stone wall by
the entrance.
Archaeologists have found holes in the floor for wooden
posts which suggests there was an internal structure and
probably even a roof.

Falls of Shin

The Falls of
Shin, with its first class Visitor Centre, is a truly
wonderful experience for all the family. It's open all year
round and has excellent parking and facilities, including
childrens adventure playground and a cafeteria. The stars
of the show, of course, are the salmon which leap the
dramatic waterfalls.

The Mound

The
construction of the causeway at the Mound around 1816
effectively split Loch Fleet in two. At the time, a sluice
system was built to prevent salt water from flowing into the
fresh water lagoon that was formed. This fresh water habitat
is now a thriving nature reserve, home to many plants,
birds, and animals, including osprey.
