Founded in 1881, Brora golf
club began life as a 9 hole course which was later extended
to 18 holes by John Sutherland, Secretary of the Royal
Dornoch Golf Club.
In 1923 James Braid was commissioned to
redesign the course and little has changed since Braid
worked his architectural magic. Today Brora is the proud
home of the James Braid Golfing Society. Of all the famous
and world renowned courses in Scotland, Brora is perhaps
the least known and yet it is probably the truest test of
classic links golf in the country.
