North from the estuary of the River Brora, forming a natural
boundary between the golf course and the sea, runs a
limitless stretch of unspoiled beach.
Although a little cold
for swimming most of the year, with the proper equipment it
is perfect for water sports or for enjoying family outings
and
picnics on the sand. South from the river estuary is the
back shore. an unspoiled natural wilderness.
Access to the front shore is from the car park at the Brora
Golf Club down a well marked path.
Access to the back shore is from a public car park near the Radio
Station in Lower Brora. It is possible to walk right along
the back shore past Dunrobin Castle to Golspie along a reasonable
track, although good boots would be recommended.

The
Back Shore
The coastline south from the River Brora estuary has to be
experienced to be believed. Here you can enjoy wildlife in their natural habitat - often at surprisingly close
range. Local walkers have been known to get within 50 yards of seals
and it isn't uncommon to see young seals playing in the
surf under the watchful gaze of their mother. Rarely can such beautiful coastline be enjoyed in
such solitude,

summer walk along the back shore as far as the
